What to expect at a stock market

A stock market is where company stock and derivatives are traded at prices agreed upon by the seller and buyer. Besides stocks, it is possible to buy bonds and other financial instruments not concerned with investing. It is on a stock exchange that the stocks are listed and traded.

It is the purpose of a stock exchange to bring buyers and sellers of the various stocks together. Participants of stock markets used to be individual investors. However as time progressed the stock market developed and the buyers and sellers are not as much individual buyers and sellers, but rather institutions. With institutions as the new age of investors, the stock market is more efficient.
